2025 was another incredibly active year in state privacy and AI laws with states enacting numerous new laws and amending existing laws and regulations. Enforcement also picked up speed and intensity. Combined, this activity created an ever-increasing and complex patchwork of requirements and obligations on companies.

On November 6, from 12 to 1 p.m. ET, members of Troutman Pepper Locke’s data privacy and AI team will host a webinar to unpack this activity and provide key updates on state privacy and AI developments, including:

  • An analysis of amendments to existing consumer data privacy laws in Connecticut, Colorado, Montana, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Virginia, and Kentucky as well as an overview of the bills still active this year.
  • A discussion of recent enforcement actions in California and Connecticut.
  • An update on new AI laws in California, New York, Texas, Maine and Utah.
  • An overview of the chaos of new kid’s privacy laws, including new laws requiring app developers to recognize age signals.
  • An update on changes in biometric privacy laws and data broker laws and regulations.
